FLOATING PUNCH HOLDER

The present invention is related to a floating punch-holder comprising holdi ng means adaptable to be attached to a punching apparatus, shank means having upper portion and lo wer portion, the upper portion of the shank being held by the holding means, punch means bein g connected to the lower portion of the shank means, die means adapted to cooperate with the pu nch means, wherein the holding means comprises a cavity adapted to accommodate and immobily loc k the upper portion of the shank means, and wherein the upper portion having a configura tion adapted to easily and accurately adjust the punch means in any position desired for ali gnment and centring with the die means while remaining in line as one or other adjustment is mad e. The holding means is incorporated within the punching apparatus, comprising a chuck means adap table to be attached to the punching apparatus. The chuck means comprises an upper portion and lo wer portion, the upper portion is adapted to be securely attached to the apparatus and the lo wer portion accommodates the cavity and the chuck means has unitary configuration.
