Adjustable hydraulic axle stabiliser for road vehicle

The adjustment of the system pressure, necessary for the adjustable spring rigidity is effected in accordance with a pneumatic spring principle. On both hydraulic conduits (6,7) which connect the hydraulic chambers of the cylinders crossways, a branch to a further hydraulic cylinder (8,9) is fitted. The hydraulic volumes are thereby enlarged but both to the same extent and not alterably. The hydraulic volume of this latter cylinder must be at least twice that of the first two cylinders, so that both pistons of the double-acting cylinder (4,5) can move into arbitrary end positions. This enables the maximum pivot range of the wheel suspensions to be achieved. The adjustment of the spring rigidity of the axle stabiliser may be affected in that the piston connecting rods of the hydraulic cylinder are fed with a corresponding force.
