New pyrazino:steroid or pyrazino:di:steroid compounds

Pyrazinosteroid compounds of formula (I) are new. R1, R2 = optionally p-substituted Ph; or R1+R2 = the residue of a steroid molecule (S1); R3+R4 form the B, C and D ring of a steroid molecule (different from S1 when R1+R2 = S1). Claimed preparation of (I) comprises reaction of an azirine of formula (III) (optionally formed {Iin situI} by thermolysis or photolysis of a compound of formula R2-CH=C(R1)N3 (II)) with a 1-amino-3-oxo- DELTA <1>-steroid of formula (IV).
