CHECK SYSTEM FOR WAVELENGTH CHANNEL SIGNAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method to decide whether or not a channel signal carried by each wavelength channel is located in the center of a substantial wavelength channel. SOLUTION: This wavelength division multiplex system is provided with a multiplexer configuration which is adopted to detect a proper signal is properly corrected and an improper signal is corrected into a proper signal. This system is provided with a signal generator overlapping a secondary signal onto an original signal in a signal channel. The secondary signal is a tone signal subjected to intensity modulation and has a shallow modulation depth and adjacent frequency and amplitude. Thus, the cross reference with an intended optical signal to occupy a wavelength channel to be assigned to a specific tone (that is, secondary signal) is established.
