PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a lightweight composite brake disk in which the rise of the production cost is suppressed and having wear resistance, heat resistance and corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: As for this composite brake disk 1, the whole body is composed of a composite part consisting of a porous alumina preform 51 and an Al base matrix infiltrated into the porous alumina preform 51 . As the powder raw material for the porous alumina preform 51 , the powdery mixture of inexpensive calcined alumina powder 7 in which the average particle diameter d1 is regulated to 20<=d1 <=200μm and pulverized alumina powder 8 in which the average particle diameter d2 is regulated to 0.5<=d2 <=10μm is used.
