PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove a vinylidene chloride resin form an olefin resin substrate coated therewith by immersing the substrate in an aq. surfactant soln. with a specified concn. at a specified temp. under stirring. SOLUTION: The substrate, to which this method is suitably applied, can be made of one of various olefin resins, suitable examples being a propylene homopolymer and a propylene/α-olefin copolymer. The substrate having the coating layer is cut in advance into a suitable size, e.g. a 2-20mm square. Anionic and cationic surfactants can be used here, though a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether is pref., one liq. at normal temp. being easy to handle. The concn. of the surfactant in the aq. soln. is 0.1wt.% or higher, pref. 0.1-3.0wt.%. The substrate is immersed in the soln. at a temp. of 100 deg.C or higher but lower than the m.p. of the substrate under stirring at a revolution speed of a stirrer blade at its end of 1.8m/sec or higher.
