Disclosed is a method for controlling the brightness of a graphic display device according to the outside environment in order to relieve driver fatigue. When outside of the vehicle is so bright that the driver turns off light switch(22), transistor(TR2) is not operating and input signal(d) provides maximum output to power sources(g); otherwise, outside of the vehicle is dark, light switch(22) being on state, transistor(TR2) within light switch signal input is operated, so signal(d) different from input signal when light switch(22) is off, is delivered to the input side(1) of pulse occurrence exclusive IC(26), additionally the function of transistor(TR1) within light switch signal input end(24) delivers signal(e) to input side(16) of pulse occurrence exclusive IC(26).
