PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To send a multiplex signal in an optical transmission system without error by conducting scrambling in a stage number higher than the multiplexity and giving an inverted input signal to a time division multiplexer so that bit inversion takes place at least once in one frame. SOLUTION: A parallel scrambler 1 is used to apply scrambling to an output of a time division multiplexer. Then the time division multiplexer 2 receives an output signal of the parallel scrambler 1 and an inverted signal of the output signals by inverting the output signal with a NOT element 3. In the case of transmission bit rate of, e.g. 143.1818Mb/s for the input signal, the scrambling characteristic polynomial of the parallel scrambler is expressed as p(x)=X<17> +X<2> C+1. The scrambling is conducted in a stage number higher than the multiplexity and the inverted input signal is given to the time division multiplexer 2 so that bit inversion takes place at least once in one frame. Thus, the multiplex signal is sent without error in the optical transmission system. |
