PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the minimum driving force of each vehicle to use it as the lower limit value of the desired driving force. SOLUTION: A desired driving force y4 for making actual vehicle speed Vsp coincide with the desired vehicle speed Vspr is computed, and a final desired driving force y1 is computed through the correction of the desired driving force y4 on the basis of estimated resistance to running so as to control driving of a throttle actuator in accordance with the final desired driving force y1. Based on engine torque at full throttle that is measured at each engine speed, the upper limit value of the final desired driving force y1 is set, and the final desired driving force y1 computed when detecting that the throttle is fully closed for a predetermined time is set as the lower limit value; with the final desired driving force y1 limited within the range form the upper to lower limit values, a corrected final desired driving force y5 is calculated (limiter), and the resistance to running is estimated on the basis of the corrected final desired driving force y5 and the actual vehicle speed Vsp.
