PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for automatic transmission which can prevent the eruption of an engine and shift shock at a clutch-to-clutch shifting. SOLUTION: In the control device of a vehicular automatic transmission for controlling the oil pressure of a release side friction engaging device, at the clutch-to-clutch shifting time achieved by the release of a prescribed friction engaging device and the engagement of other friction engaging device, a shift judging means (step 3) for judging the excution of clutch-to-clutch shifting and a release pressure gradual reduction means (step 5, 6, 8, 10) for dropping gradually the torque capacity of the release side friction engaging device from the start point of the clutch-to-clutch shifting are provided. |
