PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage a font registered in a printer on an information processor- side so as to eliminate a printing impossible state by securing a private memory for storing the registration font in the printer before font registration is executed and registering the font within a range that the fonts can be stored. SOLUTION: The private memory for storing the registration font is secured in the printer before font registration is executed. The fonts are registered within the range that the fonts can be stored in the private memory. When a printer status request command 3001 is issued from a host 2100-side and the command is analyzed on a printer 1000-side, the present idle capacity 3002 of a registration memory and the like are returned to a host 2100. The host 2100-side decides memory capacity and the storage memory, which are used for font registration, from the idle capacity information 3002 and issues the request command of the registration memory for securing memory capacity. The printer 1000-side analyzes the command and secures memory capacity for the registration memory.
