PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the handling performance of a document preparing device by changing the display screen so as to show a prescribed number of lines of the shown end part at the head position of the screen when a cursor shifts to the line next to last one on the screen by the input of a character. SOLUTION: A display range designation means 61 of a memory 5 designates the display head position and a cursor shifts to the lowest line by the input of a character. When a line feed character is inputted under such conditions, a line feed code is written in the corresponding address of a document area. When an out-range detection means 63 detects that the cursor gets out of a screen, a control means 7 adds the contents of a display change length designation means 64 to the display head position of the means 61 to decide a new display head position. At the same time, the contents of a cursor position designation means 62 are changed according to the remaining display length calculated by subtracting the display change length from the display length designation value. Then the range designated by the means 61 is sent to a display memory 3 to change the contents of the display screen so as to show a prescribed number of lines of the end part at the head position. |
