<p>PURPOSE:To carry out denitration, desulfurization and dust collection with a reduced cost by generating pulse corona discharge across a gas passage of exhaust gas and by making a critical value EP in the clearance to be extremely high value. CONSTITUTION:In the titled gas purifying apparatus which removes gaseous contaminating substances such as NOX, SO2 in the industrial exhaust gas of boilers, etc., a group of vertical plate type confronting electrodes 6 positioned at the same distance and a group of corona discharge wires 8 positioned in the middle between said electrodes 6 are provided in a casing 1. And an output extra-short pulse high voltage of a high voltage extra-short pulse power source is made to show such a wave height value Vp that a time concerning peak value Ep of a mean electric field intensity concerning the distance between the corona discharge wires 8 and the confronting electrodes 6 shows the critical value Epo=8d(kV/cm) or more, where (d) is the relative density of gas. In this condition, NO and SO2 are oxidized first, and then brought into contact with absorbing agents to be removed.</p> |
