A chuck for one or more bobbins placed behind each other has several axially spaced groups of clamping elements (2) round the circumference of a main tube (1) accommodated in recesses with wedge shaped bearing surfaces. The clamping elements (2) are moved by a cylindrical thrust tube (3), situated round the main tube (1), with openings (12) for the clamping elements (2). The clamping elements (2) and bearing surfaces of any one group are identical and are placed along a circumference of the main tube (1). The widths of the recesses are limited in the circumferential direction and correspond to the size of the clamping elements in that direction. The thrust tube (3) holds at least two groups of clamping elements (2) and, if necessary, several thrust tubes are rigidly connected to each other. The locations of the openings (12) in the thrust tube (3) correspond to the circumferential and axial positions of the clamping elements (2) and their recesses in the main tube (1). |
