A plastic cap for containers comprises a flat top, a casing emanating from same, as well as a guarantee area in the form of a guarantee ring provided in the edge zone of the casing. The guarantee area is provided with at least one vertical incision extending over the height of the guarantee area. The vertical incision is arranged in dependence on specific form characteristics, preferably in dependence on the arrangement of holding webs of the cap, and is cut into the wall of the guarantee ring.
