The grate plate is cooled by water or a coolant with a higher boiling point than water. The grate plate accommodation (2) has a hollow profile (5) with two separated, stacked collector cross-sections (6, 7) for feed and exit of coolant. The coolant collector has at least one inlet and outlet. The grate plate back (3) comprises several hollow profiles (13) arranged next to one another and welded together, having at least one coolant channel (14). The hollow profiles are arranged between the grate plate accommodation and head (4). Their upper edges are connected with those of the accommodation and head.
