The dwelling for providing autonomy to aged and infirm people comprises various space defining modules in an enclosure (2) resting on a raised floor (12). There are modules for rest (3), for hygiene (4), for transfer of material, for dressing and undressing the person, and for storage (5) of material necessary for the life and daily activities of this person. The modules are accessible from a moving bridge in the upper part of the enclosure. A ceiling is provided on which rest several storage units which can accessed by the bridge. The modules are managed by an automised system to provide an optimised procedure for the autonomy of the aged person.
