PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an adhesion quantity of an adhesive and to accomplish softening and reduction in weight of fiber by covering a carcass ply reinforcing aromatic polyamide fiber surface by an adhesive composition containing a silicate compound with the predetermed weight ratio of silicon to magnesium. SOLUTION: Aromatic polyamide fiber used as carcass ply reinforcing fiber includes a filament thread, a cord, a cloth, and a woven fabric, which are made of poly-p-phenylene terephthalamide and the like. The surface of the carcass ply reinforcing fiber is covered by an adhesive composition. Especially, a twist with a twisting coefficient of 1500-2300 is applied to the cord upward and downward in the opposite directions. A silicate compound contained in the adhesive composition covering the surface of the reinforcing aromatic polyamide fiber contains silicon and magnesium at the weight ratio of 1/(0.1-1.0). In addition, sodium, a lithium containing inorganic compound, fluorine, and aluminum can be contained. For the silicates compound, smectite which is excellent in rubber adhesion is used. |
