L-HOMOSERINE AND L-HOMOSERINE LACTONE AS BACTERIOSTATIC AGENTS FOR M. TUBERCULOSIS AND M. BOVIS

摘要

A method for inhibiting growth of slow growing mycobacteria involves administering an inhibitory amount of L-homoserine, L-homoserine lactone or a precursor thereof to mycobacteria. This method can be used to detect the presence of slow growing mycobacteria and to treat patients infected with M. tuberculosis.
