<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish the reduction of the capacity and cost of a power supply by reducing peak load while keeping printing quality. SOLUTION: This thermal printer is connected to a power supply device 30 containing a condenser C1 furnishing peak load and a current is supplied to a thermal head 22 within an one line printing permitting time T to perform the printing of one line. In this case, a divided time memory means 14T2 storing divided times T2 obtained by dividing the one line printing permitting time T into a plurarity of times, a current supply number-of-time memory means 14T2 storing the current supply number of times N and repeated current supply control means 12, 13 setting one continuous current supply time to the divided times T2 stored in the divided time memory means 14T2 and repeatedly supplying a current to the thermal head 22 by the current supply number of times N stored in the current supply number-of-time memory means 14N are provided and the continuous supply of a current of a plurality of times (N) within the one line printing permitting time T is repeatedly executed to enable the printing of one line.</p> |
