PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformer for a meter capable of readily fitting a winding. SOLUTION: A core clamper 2 clamps a laminated iron core 1 having an upper leg part 1A; a lower leg part 1B; a first yoke part 1C and a second yoke part 1D in a stacking direction. The core clamper 2 is divided into an L-shaped first clamper 2A for clamping the first yoke part 1C and the lower leg part 1B and an I-shaped second clamper 2B for clamping the second yoke part 1D. Under a condition that the yoke part 1C of a U-shaped iron core portion comprising the first yoke part 1C, the upper leg part 1A and the lower leg part 1B, and the lower leg part 1B are clamped by the first clamper 2A, a winding 6 is coiled on the upper leg part 1A, and after the second yoke part 1D is fitted, the second clamper 2B is fitted on the second yoke part 1D.
