PURPOSE:To facilitate adaption in size and shape to the bone missing part of a chest wall and eliminate risk of damaging the insides or actuating singular respilation by including an enclosing member made from a fabric of polyester fiber. and also including an artificial bone member clathrated on the inside of the enclosing member. CONSTITUTION:Two fabrics constituting an enclosing member 2 are overlapped one over the other and sewn together along a stitching line 4a so as to suit the ribs to be reconstructed in the size, shape, and the number, and thus a cylindrical chamber 4 is built, which is filled with a certain amount of artificial bone members 3. The fabric for enclosing member 2 consists of polyester fiber, which shall preferably be of polyethylene terephthalate type. Usually the artificial bone member chiefly contains at least one of the ceramic, carbon, metal, and hard organic synthetic resin, and the substance may be porous or dense without pores. Thus, the chest wall can be reconstructed easily and in a short time. |
