PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cat barn for a laboratory cat, having such an inner structure that the cat can move in the favorite vertical direction therein, capable of preventing the generation of obesity and stress and capable of raising the cat. SOLUTION: Plural hopping shelves having e.g. angular shapes, respectively, are disposed in the cat barn. Therein, the hopping shelves are disposed so that the upper surface of the lower hopping shelf B is preferably placed on a virtual line having an angleαof depression of 60 deg. from the upper surface end of the upper hopping shelf A. A vertical distance H between the upper surface of the hopping shelf A and the lower surface of the hopping shelf B is preferably 10-15cm. A part P not overlapped with the hopping shelf A in the hopping shelf B preferably has a space enabling the stay of a cat, especially a space containing a circle having a diameter R of 15-60cm therein.
