PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an inertia body of a deceleration sensing means from being operated inadvertently by reclining operation of a seat back or the like. SOLUTION: A seat belt retractor comprises a main body part 1A having a reel shaft for taking up a web and a separate body 1B which is formed separately from the main body 1A and has a deceleration sensing means using an inertia body. The main body part 1A is fitted to the upper side surface of a seat back 43 of a vehicle seat, and the separate body 1B is fitted to the rear side surface of a seat part 44. The reel shaft of the main body part 1A and a lock gear provided on the separate body 1B are connected to each other by a flexible shaft assembly 34. When the inertia body is operated, the reel shaft of the main body 1A is locked by the rotation of the lock gear through a wire assembly 21. As the inertia body of the separate body 1B is not operated inadvertently at the time of reclining the seat back, the reel shaft can be prevented from being locked. |
