PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording medium having the excellent preservability of water resistance, wear resistance and light resistance by sequentially laminating an undercoating layer containing fine particles of titanium oxide and/or zinc oxide, a non-porous layer having ink retentivity and light transmission properties and a porous layer having liquid permeability and light scatterability on a transparent base material. SOLUTION: The recording medium for ink jet printing used for the ink jet recording system is formed by sequentially laminating an undercoating layer containing the fine particles of titanium oxide and/or zinc oxide, a non-porous layer having ink retentivity and light transmission properties, and a porous layer having liquid permeability and light scatterability on a transparent base material. The particle size of the fine particles of the titanium oxide and/or zinc oxide is set to a range of 1 to 400nm, and the thickness of the undercoating layer is formed in a range of 0.05 to 5μm. The thickness of the base material is not particularly limited, but generally suitable in a range of 1 to 5000μm and preferably a range of 5 to 500μm. |
