<p>Detecting single-stranded nucleic acid (I) based on the increase in rate of an electrochemical reaction in presence of (I), is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) detecting (I) having a specific sequence by hybridization with a (I) of known sequence, provided with a chemical group for binding to an electrode surface; adsorbing the product on an electrode surface, and measuring the reduction in rate of an electrochemical reaction, in comparison with a single-stranded, non-hybridized nucleic acid; and (2) method similar to (1) but where the (I) of known sequence is already immobilized on the electrode surface.</p> |
