PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the fault detection rate while suppressing the increase of wirings, etc., in an information processing system applying a master chcker system. SOLUTION: A selection circuit 150a selects one of signals 102a showing the processing results of the built-in circuit of a processor 101a and outputs the selected signal 102a as an internal signal 131a. This signal selection is carried out based on a selection signal 130a sent from the processor 101a. In the same way, a selection circuit 150b outputs an internal signal 131b. A fault detection circuit 190 decides the coincidence between both signals 131a and 131b to detect a fault. The processor 101a properly changes the signal 130a to output the processing result signals 102a that are effective to detect the faults as the internal signals 131.
