METHOD FOR SPECIFYING CELL GIVEN IN DATA TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for specifying a cell given in a data transmission system transferring data as cells. SOLUTION: Asynchronous transfer mode ATM cells are grouped into groups 31, 32, 33, 34 and each group is identified based on a combination between a group serial number and/or an identifier included in each cell of a group. In the latter case, the combination of identifiers is compared with a prescribed aperiodic character string. A given cell in a group is identified by a way that th cell is what order number of cell from a start and/or an end of the group or by the identifier of the cell.
