SHEATH AND CORE TYPE CONJUGATE FIBER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sheath and core type conjugate fiber having improved interfacial peeling character by spinning a composite flow of mutually incompatible thermoplastic polymers through a flicker forming layer. SOLUTION: This fiber comprises A polyethylene terephtahlate as core component and B a high density polyethylene as sheath component. The mutually incompatible sheath and core composite flow is passed through a flicker forming layer made of three layered metal nets each having different mesh and then extruded from the nozzle to form a sheath and core type conjugated fiber which has mutually mixed A and B on the interface of sheath and core. The fiber is drawn, oil-supplied, crimped and cut to afford a sheath and core type conjugate fiber.
