The system has a piston body with two pistons (10,12) mounted in it and preloaded by elastic elements, at least one piston exerting force on a thrust rod when a pedal is depressed. When the brake pedal is actuated, a device allows the piston upon which the thrust rod is pressing to be displaced from the brake pedal to prevent the piston from being pressed back towards the pedal, preventing the driver from detecting a braking reaction force. The device enables the piston to return to the brake pedal when the pedal is released as a result of the elastic force of the elastic element. A stop device has an electromagnet (20) and an electronic control unit (22) controlling it depending on brake pedal actuation, whereby the electromagnet can selectively engage a latching protrusion (16).
