PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to stably operate an air conditioner having a compressor and a refrigerant heater even when the variable width of the throttle of the compressor capacity is narrow by providing a means for altering the resistance of the suction side pipeline of the compressor to throttle the air conditioning capacity which cannot be completely throttled by the capacity control of the compressor in the conditioner. SOLUTION: In the air conditioner which has a refrigerant heater for heating the refrigerant at the suction side of a compressor to conduct the heating operation, the outlet of the heater is connected to the inlet of an accumulator via a tube 21, and a throttle unit is provided on the way. In the throttle unit, the part of the tube 21 is formed of three small-diameter tubes 22 to 24 each having a smaller diameter than that of the tube of a refrigerating cycle system, and solenoid valves 25, 26 are respectively provided at the tubes 23, 24. The valves 25, 26 are controlled by throttle amount control means 30 based on the set temperature and detected ambient temperature of each room. That is, the air conditioning capacity which cannot be throttled under the capacity control of the compressor is throttled by sequentially reducing the number of the opened valves 25, 26. |
