PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily specify the operation of a device without depending on key input by arranging image read means on both surfaces of a sheet carrier path, entering control information beforehand on a surface which is not an original surface and performing control corresponding to the control information. SOLUTION: In the case of performing facsimile transmission, the original surface is made to face down and setting in the order of pages on an original platen 2 is performed. In the case of performing copying, the original surface is made to face up and setting in the order of the pages is similarly performed. Original sheets are separately carried one by one from the bottom by a separation means 5 and both surfaces of the original are read by image read parts 15a and 15b. Corresponding to the control information written beforehand on the back surface of the original and read, image information such as the transmission method of the data of a first sheet, resolution, an image mode, density and a caller name, etc., is converted, a transmission destination is displayed, a line is connected and transmission is performed. The data of the first sheet are read by the mode of the highest resolution and gradation and can be converted corresponding to the control information and second and succeeding sheets are quickly read by a specified mode. Thus, operability is improved. |
