PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heating element, capable of being manufactured by a simple process, for a heating element despite having a complicated shape, by using inexpensive and insulating porous ceramics; and having both deodorizing or humidity conditioning functions too as required; by forming a specific layer, as a heating body layer, on the surface and open pore of porous ceramics. SOLUTION: A baking layer of a conductive corpuscle, which is a corpuscle composed of tin exide and antimony oxide preferably, is formed, as a heating element layer 3, on the surface and open pore part of a porous ceramics 2 having the main component of coedierite orβ-spodumene preferably. Also, a heating element can be obtained, which is having a deodorizing function; by making the porous ceramics 2 have honeycomb structure, and providing a catalyst layer, through coatedly forming a catalyst oxide (e.g. manganese oxide) by a nonorganic binder (e.g. silica sol), on the surface of the heating element layer 3; and a humidity regulating function by providing the carrying layer of moisture absorbing material (e.g. silica gel).
