PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide woven mesh fabric having lightweight and excellent weather resistance and strength deterioration resistance and suitable as a net for ground use by using high-tenacity masking yarn composed mainly of flame- retardant or flameproof polyester fiber yarn. SOLUTION: A flame-retardant polyester fiber containing a bifunctional phosphorus compound such as [2-(β-hydroxyethoxycarbonyl)ethyl]- methylphosphinic acid and having a fineness of >=250 de is used as the warp 1 and the wefts 2,3,4. The objective woven mesh fabric contains 3-7 weft gauze textures and has an areal density of 200-600g/m<2> , a tensile strength of >=135kg/3cm and an air permeability of 80-400cm<3> /cm<2> .sec. It contains at least one kind of masking yarns 10 consisting of a high tenacity core-sheath conjugate fiber having a strength of >=15g/de and composed of a polymer selected from aromatic polyamide, polyphenylsulfone and polyester. The sheath component is mass-colored and contains 0.5-3wt.% of an ultraviolet absorber. The yarns are present in the warp and/or weft directions of the weft gauze textures in the form of a double-woven texture. The number of the conjugate fibers is >=1, preferably >=2 and less than the number of the yarns 1-4 constituting the gauze texture.
