PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial marble having appearance, physical properties, etc., close to those of natural marble and producible at a low cost. SOLUTION: This artificial marble contains a porous sintered material having a porosity of 5-30% and produced by calcining a raw material containing calcium carbonate as a main component, a lithium compound as a sintering assistant, a resin impregnated in the pores of the sintered material and, as necessary, an inorganic pigment. The marble has a water absorption of <=3% and a Mohs hardness of 3-5. |
