摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric gear shift mechanism for an automobile which can control a change in applied force even in case of rotaty motion by an electric motor or even in the case of rectilinear motion. SOLUTION: In a gear shift member to make two almost mutually crossing necessary shift motions R and L by cooperating with a gear shift element of a speed change gear box, one rotary motion R of the motions is performed by an electromagnet, and the other rectilinear motion L is performed by an electric motor to make controlled rotary motion of a screw spindle on which a nut 6 is installed, and the nut 6 has its gear shift member which is guided to the axis by a straight line guide device and is firmly supported so as to not to rotate, and one rotary motion R is also taken out of the screw spindle 5 by generating temporary controlled nonrotatable connection between the screw spindle 5 and the straight line guide device 8 of the nut 6 through clutches 19 and 20.
