PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely carry out the supply of toner/developer and the recovery of the deteriorated developer by providing a supplying part for supplying the toner or the developer to a developing part with a rotary motion and a recovering part for lifting up with the rotary motion. SOLUTION: When a new container 3 is attached, a stopper 40 is opened by a chuck device and rotated by the transmission of drive to a rotary body 33 from a driving part with a gear 34. Simultaneously, a powder container 3 is rotated in the same direction by the driving part as well and the toner is discharged from a second powder container 12. When all the toner is discharged from the second powder container 12, the empty powder container 12 is used as a recovering container for the deteriorated developer. The deteriorated developer is recovered in such a manner that first and second carrying screws 21 and 22 are driven in the same way as when the toner or the developer is supplied and the rotary body 33 is rotated in a direction opposite to that when the toner or the developer is supplied. |
