A car headlamp has a reflector (10) that is adjustable in its mounting (12) using an adjusting screw whose threaded shaft is held by at least one spring in an open threaded shell. The spring can be detached. The threaded shaft is limited in its axial movement by a collar at each end. The spring is basically U-shaped, gripping the shaft between its legs.
