PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the scattering of toner from both end parts of a toner carrier by recovering the toner which is scraped with a toner thin layer forming member and tries to move to both end parts and scatter, into a developing container. SOLUTION: The developing device is provided with a cover member 5g which is provided with an opening facing a photoreceptor 1 in the upper part of a developing container 5a and covers both end parts, in such a manner that the cover member 5g is brought into contact with or close to both end parts facing non-image parts on the photoreceptor 1, of the surface of the toner carrier 5b exposed from the opening and a toner carrying part 13 constituted in such a manner that a toner holding part 13a is supported by a rotatable shaft part 13b on a supporting part 13c, so that the toner holding part 13a holding the toner can be positioned to come into contact with or nearer to the surface of a toner supplying member 5c and the bottom surface of the developing container 5a. The bottom surface of the developing container 5a is formed so as to be along the locus of the movement of the top end of the toner holding part 13a. |
