PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade influence by a change in the flow characteristic of a developer due to variations in temperature by arranging a toner concentration detector opposite to a stirring/carrying member constituting a developer stirring/ carrying mechanism. SOLUTION: A rectangular opening 114 corresponding to the cross-sectional shape of the detecting part, 116a of the toner concentration detector 116 is formed in the central part in a width direction between an upstream side partition 38 and a downstream side partition 40, of the bottom wall 12 of a developing housing 10, that is, in the lower part of a distributing blade provided in the central part, of the first stirring/carrying member 62 of the developer stirring/carrying mechanism 36. Further, the detecting part, 116a of the toner concentration detector 116 for detecting the concentration of toner in the developer 112 is fitted into the opening 114. Then, the toner concentration detector 116 is disposed in such a manner that the top surface 116b of the detecting part 116a is projected from the inside surface 12a of the bottom wall 12 of the developing housing 10. |
