The fastening consists of two U-shaped elements (14,16) which fit round the rods (10,12) and have slots in their sides to receive a transverse member (18). The U-shaped elements have openings which are slightly greater than the diameter of the rods. The transverse member has sections (30,32,34,36) of reduced thickness to engage with the slots. The transverse member is made with olives (20,22) between the sections of reduced thickness, with the inner surfaces of the olives curved to match the rods. The ends of the slots in the U-shaped elements have notches to fix the transverse member in position.
