An assembly aid for e.g. door frames etc., consists of two sections (1, 3) which are wedge shaped and which can be spread apart using a movable actuating member (11). The sections have converging wedge surfaces (7, 9) which have the actuating member between them. A tensioning member (13) can be drawn into the back ends of the wedge shaped surfaces. The components pref. consist of e.g. polypropylene or polyethylene.
