RECORDING METHOD FOR BIT STREAM DATA, DEVICE, EDITING METHOD, DEVICE AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording, editing method capable of editing in a short time, the device and the recording medium used for the execution of this method by detecting sequentially specific codes from bit stream data so as to specify position information of the bit stream data and recording the codes in relation to the bit stream data. SOLUTION: An operation section 13 designates an editing start point and an edit end point with a time code recorded separately. Then the position of a start code of GOP data including an image at the editing start point and the editing end point is retrieved by a count stored in a hard disk 9. Then the GOP data having a start code of the start point to the GOP data having a start code of the end point are copied. In the case of extracting plural scenes, the time codes of the editing start and end point are inputted altogether. The processing above is repeated till the time code corresponding to the entered editing start point is not in existence.
