The invention relates to a process for producing two-coat painted vehicle components in which two coats are applied to both sides of a sheet-metal coil and baked, corresponding sheet-metal components are then stamped from the coil and shaped by the deep-drawing process. In the coil coating process, to provide the first coating a coating medium (A) is applied which, in relation to its solid resin composition, contains 55 to 80 % wt. of one or more polyester polyols, 2 to 10 wt.% of one or more epoxy resins and 5 to 15 wt.% of aminoplast resin and 10 to 25 wt.% of a blocked polyisocyanate as the cross-linking agent, and to produce the second coating a coating medium (B) is applied which, in relation to its solid resin composition, contains 60 to 80 wt.% of one or more polyester polyols and as the cross-linking agent 10 to 20 wt.% aminoplast resin and 10 to 20 % wt. aminoplast resin and 10 to 20 % wt. blocked polyisocyanate, where the sum of the components of the coating medium is 100 wt.%. The invention also relates to a process for producing painted vehicle coachwork in which the painted and shaped sheet-metal sections are secured together by adhesion and/or clinching and/or screwing.
