A device for use in forming a joint, the device comprising a female part 50 to be axially inserted in a recess 56 in one joint member 32 and a male part 52 adapted to be received by a through-passage in the female part. The female part 50 comprises a first end portion for insertion into the recess 56 and a second end portion for insertion into a recess 84 in another joint member 42 and an annular abutment means (86,figure 3) between the end portions for limiting the insertion of the second end potion in to the recess 84. The male part 52 is provided with an end region 58 comprising a plurality of taper portions (72,74,76,figure 5) for expanding the first end portion when the male part is moved axially in the direction of the second end portion so that the female part is secured in the recess 56. |
