PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sustain high energy conversion efficiency of a solar battery for a long term without requiring any cleaning by preventing the protective cover for solar battery from being contaminated and performing self-cleaning. SOLUTION: The protective cover 20 for solar battery is coated with a photocatalytic layer 22. When the photocatalytic layer 22 is excited with solar light, the surface thereof is rendered hyperhydrophilic on such order as the contact angle with water is about 0 deg.. When the solar battery is exposed to rain fall, contaminants adhering to the surface of protective cover is washed off, i.e., self-cleaning takes place on the surface. |
