PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber selecting device which can reduce the size in an optical fiber array direction even when a plurality of fixed-side optical fiber cables are connected. SOLUTION: After a movable-side optical fiber 3 is moved in X direction by driving an optical fiber moving mechanism 11 and then positioned relatively to an arbitrary fixed-side optical fiber 1, the movable-side optical fiber 3 is moved in Y direction and received on the other end side of the guide groove 10a of an optical fiber holder 10, so that the arbitrary fixed-side optical fiber 1 and movable-side optical fiber 3 are held having their end surfaces opposite to each other. In this case, the optical fibers 1 of two fixed side optical fiber cables 2 in total are arrayed in the respective grooves 10a of the optical fiber holder 10, one to one, alternately; and the respective guide grooves 10a are provided at the same intervals as the external diameter of the optical fibers 1, which are arrayed nearly having no gap. |
