PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon steel thin cast slab preventing the abnormal solidification developed at the end part thereof and having a good shape. SOLUTION: In a twin roll type continuous casting method, molten carbon steel M is continuously supplied into interval between one pair of cooling rolls 1, 1 arranged in mutually parallel state and solidified and cast to the thin cast slab 6. A crown rate Cw(μm) regulated with the inequality (I) according to the thickness (d)(mm) and width W(mm) of the thin cast slab S, is given in the cooling rolls 1, 1 during casting. (0.0000138×d×W<2> )+(0.017×d×W)<=Cw<=0.5×d...(I). Wherein, (d) is the thickness of the thin cast slab (mm) and W is the width of the thin cast slab (mm).
