PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinged cap having a hinge mechanism which functions favorably in the way the cap works with a snap and as regards the way the cap is handled and in being durable. SOLUTION: A hinge mechanism 16 of a cap 10 of a container consists of a three-piece hinge composed of a hinge body 36 by which an over-cap 14 is held swingably in relation to a cap skirt 12 and a pair of elastic pieces 38 placed on both sides of the hinge body 36. The ends of the elastic pieces 38 are jointed respectively with the cap skirt and the over-cap in an arc or straight line along their peripheries. When the cap is opened 180 deg., the elastic pieces assume the shape of approximately an arc between the cap skirt and the overcap and become thicker the nearer the position under consideration is to the ends. Since the thickness of the elastic pieces is made larger on the side closer to the ends where stress concentration is liable to occur, this constitution serves to even out the distribution of stress. |
