In order to be able to measure the concentration of fluorine ions or a metallic fluoride ratio in a melt (18) or gas mixture, the invention proposes a device which comprises a solid electrolyte (1) of calcium fluoride, a reference electrode (2) made of a metal and the corresponding metallic fluoride, and a voltage-measuring device (3) which can be connected both to the reference electrode (2) and to the melt (18) or gas mixture acting as the working electrode via a diverter (4 and 5).
